Overview

Bhramatal trek is one of a kind, it offers views to unparalleled levels. It offers two alpine lakes which are more than a lottery for those who spotting even one alpine lake is considered a great experience, here it is two on both sides. The lakes are so pure and straight out of wallpaper views, you come to know these are more real than anywhere. You get a panoramic view of the Trishul, and Nanda ghunti from there, add to it the bird’s eye view of the great Roopkund. All around you can see the thick blanket of snow-covered peaks, you will not be able to see footprints as they get covered quite fast. The trek to Bhramatal takes you through many Himalayan hamlets, gorges, river streams, bridges, lakes, conifers, oak forests, and wild animals. Bhramatal is known as snow trekking destination thanks to its height, and the region in which the snowfall is above normal levels, it is more beautiful than other trekking destinations due to its white snow-covered trekking route. Bharmatal snow trekking can be made even in the peak snow seasons of January and February. Other easier options for snowtime trekking are Kedarkantha, Tungnath, Kuari pass, and Chopta.

Bhramatal trek takes you through the snow meadows in between and on both sides of the snow-covered mountain are the two lakes, Bhramatal and Bekhal Tal which are equally good. The Sunset is an event one should look forward to from here as the view is extremely mesmerizing from the top, especially from October to March. Overlooking the Mundoli the wide valley and the borders of Uttarakhand’s twin regions, Garhwal and Kumaon. Further up is Jatropani peak from Bharamatal campsite, it is considered the big brother of Bhramatal and is on the west ridge. The view from Jatropani is mesmerizing too with large mountains such as Chaukhamba, Neelakantha, and Kamet. On the way, you can Mrighutuni, Devkoti, and Kamet mountains. Bhramatal trek has everything one can look for, it has shadowy forests, snow mountains, snow-covered meadows, and campsites near the lake. You can camp right next to the lake if there is no proper snow in the region, it stands at approx. 12,200 ft and is not so difficult level to encourage newbie trekkers. Snowfall is rampant in the season, all leaves of the trees are covered and dripping snow from the leaves makes for a great view. The trek lets you go through Himalayan hamlets, the local farming lands, the sounds of goats, birds, and the ever-active Himalayan butterflies. If you are making the trip on snowtime your fitness will be tested before allowing it as it gets a lot more difficult. Lohajung a small village is the base camp for this trekking destination and also the more famous Roopkund trek, and all.
